Awesome player that needs to get on a team capable of winning a championship, before old age creeps up on him!
I'll take Nowitzki over Kevin Garnett at this point in their careers. _________________ LAKERS WILL REPEAT IN 2010 |

He got screwed out of that by the refs in the '06 Finals. |

For a chance at a ring he should be traded to the Sixers. _________________ Philadelphia Phillies 2008 World Champions.

There is a "D" in irk. He plays defense and is above average, overall. In fact, so far this season he has been pretty good on that end. He gets this perception that he's not a good defensive player because he doesn't move well, laterally.

The Mavs are a better team than the Sixers. |

Sorry Martin, but when I think of good defenders in the NBA, irk doesn't even come close _________________ Nothing beats a great pair of legs |

Dirks a Choker
I've seen too many big playoff games where Dirk didn't show up, missed key shots or free throws down the stretch.
Remember the series Dallas vs. Golden State... Don Nelson was able to play a smaller/quicker line-up against the bigger Mavericks because Dirk didn't play big at all. Golden St. went on to win that series, played the Utah Jazz and there small ball line-up was punished by Carlos Boozer.
Also in the finals against the Heat, Dirk (a great free throw shooter) missed quite a few free throws down the stretch as I remember.
Dirk has all the talent in the world but I don't know about mental toughness... I'd take KG or even a HEALTHY Carlos Boozer over Dirk

First of all, you're crazy if you're going to take Boozer over Dirk. Please..... did you not see last night's game against the Jazz? Where was Boozer at the end of the game while Dirk was lighting them up on both ends of the floor? You can debate whether on who you'd rather have. Dirk or KG? Garnett has two all-stars to play with.... hence why he has a ring. Dirk doesn't have that type of talent around him (really hasn't since he's emerged as a superstar), which is even more amazing of what he's doing. He was the only all-star on a 60-win team to go to the NBA Finals and should have won it. In this league, that's pretty hard to do.
Yes...... he had a bad series against Golden State. Complete failure on him and the rest of the team. The Finals.... he did miss some critical FTs but also the officiating in that series was very lopsided towards Wade and the Heat it wasn't even funny. Absolutely pathetic. What about the series against the Spurs in '06 where he was great? Knocking the then-defending champs out of the playoffs at their own place? He's had great playoff performances. Don't let what happened in the GS series overshadow what he's done overall in his career in the postseason. |
