Message Board Upgrade

I am forced to spend the day upgrading the version of the message board due to security concerns by my hosting service. These things may or may not happen during the upgrade:

The board may have to be locked for a period of time while files are being uploaded and tested.

I could loose the databases and all of the messages and have to attempt to restore them. This could mean that we may loose a few hours or even all of the correspondence. I have plenty of backups. I've just never attempted to do a restore.

Certain custom looks may change, at least temporarily. For example, the links at the top of the page or the style of posting bars.

There won't be any caps until the upgrade is finished.

Thanks for your patience and pray for me because, as usual, I don't really know what I'm doing.

As of 10:15 AM the switch appears to be complete and now I'll begin testing. Please post anything you notice that is unusual here.

Hi DT,

I had a little difficulty this afternoon logging in. It was late in the afternoon. I kept getting the "search site" page. I think all is well now. Just thought I would let you know.

Could you let me know how I can post a picture. I have a jpg file, I first press the button (Img) and it doesn't show. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Rondelle. Just type in the address of the picture, select it by dragging the cursor over it and then press the Img button. You can also just add the code [img] before the URL and the code [/img] after. That tells the software to interpret it as a picture.

OK ...my image is a file on my computer, though. It's not coming from somewhere on the internet. How do I download my photo to a place I can link to?

I can't find the thread. A quick Google check should give the names of some places. Perhaps imageshack?

BTW, if you are wanting to upload an avatar, you can do that in your Profile management section. You can go directly from you computer to this site.
