1961	This is a collection of 11 vintage slides from the Flower Mart Garden Tour Washigton DC in 1961. The lot features 1 shot of Jackie Kennedy who cut the ribbon that day speeding away in her limo. If you lighten the image slightly (see the modified 2nd picture) you can see her jonquil-yellow wool suit. The frames on a handful of the slides are bowed slightly but still fit in the scanner easily. More info on this day from washington.org "GARDEN TOURS Jacqueline Kennedy's love for gardens was well known. "In one of her rare public appearances," wrote Cathedral Age in 1961, "Mrs. John F. Kennedy cut the ribbon officially opening the annual Flower Mart. . . . wearing a jonquil-yellow wool suit and matching straw hat that were as bright and sunny as the weather." Mrs. Kennedy was saluting the work of the All Hallows Guild in maintaining and renewing the spectacular Cathedral gardens and grounds. Today All Hallows Guild docents lead tours of the Bishop's Garden, renowned for its roses, perennial border, herb garden, and medieval sculpture." 1977	There are 5 slides in this lot and they are all of a parade somewhere (I'm guessing) in the west or southwest US. There is a carousel slide tray box lid full of loose slides, another tray box lid with one column of slides and about 18 small yellow boxes with a varying number of slides in each. It also includes 8 Argus boxes - mostly full. These are all from the Dean Davis family (perhaps from Georgia?) who appeared to travel extensively throughout the Western US including Georgia, Lucky Lodge, Arizona, Bahamas, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Utah etc. in the 1950s and 1960s. The husband was an avid hunter and virtually every trip results in him proudly displaying a yield of conked-out fish or fowl! They were also quick to take pictures of un-conked wildlife. 1975	37 slides of the begining of someone's trip to Europe in 1975.
