About 650 slides from 1953-1965. The focus appears to be on Flora & Hester Beaudoin, Father Ross Beaudoin, Valeria Pakaski and Sandra Pakaski. The Beaudoins were devoted to dance (both teaching dance at a very late age) and active in Dance Masters of California and Dance Masters of America. Flo and Hes owned and ran "Beaudoin's Dance Studio" at 464 Colorado Avenue in Palo Alto. There are many slides in the lot from DMA meetings and events.

Flora's Obituary:

Flora E. Beaudoin passed away June 1, 2015, at age 102. Visitation will be June 9, 6-8 pm, at Spangler Mortuary, 799 Castro St., Mountain View. Funeral Mass will be June 10 at 10 am, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church 3233 Cowper St., Palo Alto. Burial at Alta Mesa Cemetery. Flora was born March 10, 1913, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Amelia Basso. The family immigrated to the U.S. in 1915. "Flo" married Heston Beaudoin in 1941. Flo and Heston taught dancing all their lives. For them dance was not only a skill of performance and coordination but it taught teamwork, appreciation of personal gifts of both body and soul and, especially for the young, appreciation and practice of social skills. Flo was a lifetime member of the Dance Masters of California and the Dance Masters of America. Over the years she held a variety of leadership roles in both organizations. Flo also studied the Cecchetti Method of ballet and used that method in her teaching. Flo was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son Billie. She is survived by son Ross (Renata), grandchildren Chuck Beaudoin (Kimberly), Denise Daugherty (Dennis), Tom Beaudoin (Martina Verba), Annette Delce, John Beaudoin and Stephen Beaudoin, great-grandchildren Crystal Tucker, Charles Beaudoin, Juliette Beaudoin, Amelia Verba-Beaudoin and Adaline Beaudoin, and also by her sister, Valeria Pakaski and her niece Sandra Pakaski (Edward Trischmann). In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to scholarships for dance students through Dance Masters of California, 11200 Valley Oak Drive, Oakdale, CA 95361, or donations to Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 3233 Cowper Street, Palo Alto, CA 94306, or to a charity of your choice.

Heston's Obituary:

Heston Beaudoin, a Palo Alto dance teacher, died May 12. Published: 13 June 1995 Written by Los Altos Town Crier Mr. Beaudoin and his wife, Flora, ran Beaudoin's Dance Studio as a team. His wife continues teaching there. Mr. Beaudoin, a native of Utah, came to Palo Alto in 1923 with his family. While still in high school, he purchased 2 acres of land at the corner where the studio still operates. He and his wife put on numerous shows for local civic organizations to help support various charities. They also choreographed dance for numerous organizations, including the Jr. Artist Guild. He was a member of the Palo Alto Hills Golf and Country Club, Father's Frolics and junior high school productions. He is survived by his wife, Flora; and son, Ross Beaudoin of Independence, Mo. The funeral was held May 15. The family prefers memorials be made to the Lucille Salter Packard Children's Hospital, 725 Welch Road, Palo Alto 94304 or Mid-peninsula Hospice, 201 San Antonio Circle, Mountain View 94040.
