137 Kodachrome slides of a family just starting off on Van Dyke in Republic, possibly Michigan, in the 1950s. There are pictures of early birthdays for Bonnie and her younger brother Brian, and photos of them growing up, wading in lakes and backyard pools, camping, on picnics and enjoying their holiday presents.
14 Servis Color Laboratory slides of the Detroit family in and out of doors. Highlight of the lot is young Brian smoking a pipe. Slides have reddened with age but as you can see correct easily.
20 Ektachrome slides of our Detroit family at the lake. Pretty easy to imagine that the pictures were taken in Michigan. Slides have reddened with age but as you can see correct easily.
34 slides of the Michigan family on holiday in 1959. Slides appear to be from Platt River Sate Forest, Old Orchard State Park, Lake Michigan, Cumberland Falls, KY and Interlocken State Park. There are a few parade shots. You can see a S.S. Kresge, Williams, DePouw Electric, Owen Ames Kimball Company sign and a Holland's Wooden Shoe Factory float. Slides have reddened with age but as you can see correct easily.
32 slides of Bonnie's 8th Birthday Party in February (which includes Pin The Tail On The Donkey with blindfold etc.) and visits to Cumberland Falls, Bliltmore House in Asheville NC, Pensacola NC in April. Many of the travel slides are very light.
The family is on vacation again. Some of the pictuires are of Marine Studios or Marineland in Florida. There are also pictures of the kids climbing trees, at the beach and looking at exotic birds.
31 Kodachrome slides of the family on the shore in Maine, at the Ausable Chasm in New York, Covered Bridge in Vermont and the Franconia Notch in New Hampshire. There are also pictures of Bonnie on horseback and both kids posing with pumpkins.
27 Kodachrome slides of the family on vacation. Lot includes a series of shots of Bonnie and Brian with hamsters and another series from a visit to some Civil War-era fort/bridge/church/gift shops.
16 Kodachrome slides in this lot. The kids appear to be in a marching band (you can see the Acme Industrial Company, Inc. so these may be from Carpentersville, IL), more pictures of Brian with a hamster, kids in a tree, First Presbyterian Church, tents in the backyard, standing in the lake, picnic at a park, track meet, scout uniform.
40 Kodachrome slides of the family on vacation. I would guess that they are in the North East again because there are several town views which include a Salem Bookstore and a shot of Brian holding a crab. Many of the slides are poorly exposed.
71 Kodachrome slides of the family on vacation somewhere out West with mountains, water falls, park rangers, National Parks Service Visitor Center, burro rides through canyons etc.
11 Kodachrome misc. slides of the family in 1969. The shots, which are very poor, include a couple of pictures of a large carnival at night. This lot is for the hardcore Brian and Bonnie fan only.
Another 35 Kodachrome slides of the family taking the camper on vacation to the mountains. The series could be from the same July 1968 trip, though I'm not sure why they waited a month to develop this roll of film.
54 Kodachrome slides - mostly of flowers and Peg (posing, walking, playing golf) since the kids have flown. There is a picture of Niagara Community College. Did Brian or Bonnie end up here?
16 nature shots and pictures around a dam - including two blonde children holding giant fish. Blonde children appear in other 1970s film rolls from this lot but I think it's too early for them to be Bonnie's.
23 Kodachrome slides of the kids as adults visiting at home. Perhaps from Christmas 1975? Many of the slides have a black bar through the bottom or are too dark. Also some shots of birds at the bird feeder that are, again, too dark.
55 Ektachrome slides. The kids are gone so Dad becomes more interested in photographing nature. This lot includes pictures of Hyacinth, Wild Turkeys, Sandpipers, butterfly, creek etc.
28 Kodachrome slides. On holiday in some tropical environment. Shots of Peg and Peg with a young blonde girl. This could actually be a grandchild. A ship with a Rotterdam sign.
13 Ektachrome slides. The most interesting of the lot are a few shots of a city scape and the constuction of a large building. There is a Concert Ministrees, Inc. truck in the parking lot.
93 Kodachrome duplicates of Brian and friends camping at Kings Canyon National Park in 1978. These are Kodak Duplicates so he must have shared them with the family.
And the rest. About 400 slides of Ma and Pa traveling the world. Lots of castles, beach scenes, sweeping bluffs with grazing sheep, some Hawaii shots, city scenes etc.
