I'm not sure what's going on in this batch of 8 red bordered Kodachromes. Are these Margaret Hodgson's parents? You can see a sign on a factory in the background of one photograph that reads Lancashire Felt Company. That means we are in the North West of England. Are the little houses some sort of factory-related housing? Most of the shots are not focused crisply.
4 of those tiny viewing window slides, 3 showing a woman posing coyly or demurely behind a sombrero at a swimming pool. The shots are somewhat risque because the suggestion is that she is posing with nothing on but the hat. Slides have reddened with age.
No date on these 5 slides but they appear to be early 1960s. There are a few pictures of an outdoor theatre performance and people gathered around a lake or lagoon for an event. There is a sign that reads, and I suspect that it's in jest, "Olympics '62."
No date on these 5 slides but they appear to be from the early 1960s. They are mostly of the family gathered for a holiday or event and outdoors on Summer holiday.
A mostly faded, mostly reddened batch of slides from 1960. I think that most of these are from Cedar Springs. There is a Cedar Springs in Washington and in Michigan. I vote for Washington.
15 pictures of the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California in 1962. Some of the slides are dark. You can see floats representing Minute Maid Orange Juice, City & County of San Diego, Farmers Insurance, The Flintstones, Santa Monica, 1962 Seattle Worlds Fair, United Traveler, Helms Bakeries and the University of Minnesota.
21 Kodachrome Transparencies from 1962 of what seems to be a family gathering. Only two names appear on the slides - Jim and Marg. Jim's slide indicates that the birthdya cake (Jim was born on 3/13/62) is a replica of his room.
18 slides from 1962 documenting Joan's wedding, a backyard patio gathering and a single picture of a boy in his graduation gear. I don't know if Joan or The Graduate are Hodgsons or not.
18 pictures of the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California in 1963. You can see floats for San Diego City & County, Daughters of the Golden West, The Discovery of California, Memorable Moments in Dairy Land - Miss Wisconsin, Big Ten Champs and Southgate. You can see McMahon's Furniture, Natzel Oldsmobile and Sawyer School in the background.
33 slides from 1965. A fistful are from a trip to Disneyland in 1965. There is a good photograph of the Submarine Voyage with the submarines Skate, Skipjack & Patrick Henry visible.
55 slides from a vacation in Wyoming. Many of the shots are faded or blurry. What makes people want to get out and wander amongst bears? I wonder if being raised with stuffed bears dulls our survival instinct.
