Reviews of songs from album Here Come The Real Flower Pots
by critics, record companies, consumers and playlist curators from
around the world, Some of the reviews have been translated to
English by AI.
God's Horn (2024)
Lyric for God's Horn
Cosmonauta Radio
Progressive rock in the atmospheric and
cinematic vein, which avoids affected and
artificial sounding at all costs, using
orchestral instruments and generating a
natural sound; this is the most faithful
description of the work of the North
American group "The Real Flower Pots"
and their first song debuting on digital
platforms "God's Horn".
Zona Emergente
"An enveloping and energetic soundscape,
its acoustic sound manages to take us to
live an unrepeatable mental journey,
majestic music that captivates from the
first seconds."
R-CHY
"I liked the chord progression a lot, the
singer's performance sounds great and I
liked the topline as well, technically, your
work is impeccable - I have no
suggestions for improvement. It's perfect
as it is."
Alfitude
"A very intricate and beautifully
constructed pop song with a dreamy
essence."
Digital Tour Bus
"I liked the laid back sound/flow of the
instrumentals on this recording. Very
epic sound."
Joe Salvato
"I really enjoyed this from the moment it hit
my tympanic membrane! The textures and
rhythms are so rich and complex as well as
very emotive and very ethereal in parts,
contemplative."
Wax Vinyl Records
The track showcases a subtle bass and
drums backing, layered with organs,
recorders, and descending patterns, along
with gentle piano flourishes. As the vocals
enter, the arrangement evolves into a
confident groove, supported by rich
backing vocals that enhance its majestic
quality. The dynamic shifts in pace and
mood allow the song's intricate structure
to shine.
Rockola Indie
"Despite this track being included in the
Progressive Rock spectrum, its rhythmic
vibrations are a musical environment that
will impregnate us with a great peace,
since the melody of this great single from
my perspective moves away from what is
frequently heard in the genre, it transcends
to a more natural essence, not
overwhelming, very harmonious, I
emphasize again that it evokes
panoramas where purity, peace and
relaxation are present and an ethereal
atmosphere is formed. The instrumental
harmony that " God's Horn " exerts will
make you feel on cloud nine!"
Playlist Picasso
"Nice blend of colors and textures."
RETRO's
"This Folk track with instrumental elements
captures the essence of the 90s, blending
nostalgic vibes with a timeless, soulful
sound. The smooth melodies and rich
instrumentation take listeners on a journey,
creating an immersive experience that
feels both personal and reflective."
Your music has the power to transport us
to another era while still sounding fresh
and original."
I Don't Hear A Single
"Well arranged and performed, very
smooth and melodic."
Supreme Playlists
"An excellent composition and
performance."
End Sessions
"I appreciate the hypnotic atmosphere
you create. It's a great song; I'm captivated
by its feeling and smooth rhythm."
Pigeon Falls (2024)
Lyric for Pigeon Falls
Obscure Sound
"The sun reveals glittering fountains,"
lyricism provides enjoyable intrigue and
Aztec Camera-esque guitar progressions
frolic enjoyably, rising in quality form upon
the "spaceship" ruminations."
American Pancake
"The Real Flower Pots and the
austere/audacious art rock atmospheres
of "Pigeon Falls" will take you on a bold
dream while listening to lovely vocals telling
stories behind the green curtain. Lovely
stuff."
Toneville Records
"The idea and vibe of the song are on point."
Natiii
"The song's sound creates a moody,
reflective atmosphere. The dynamic
instrumentation adds more energy and
intensity to the story. It's a well crafted
song."
Joe Salvato
"What did i have for breakfast? A delicious
sonic charcuterie board called Pigeon
Falls served fresh by The Real Flower Pots...
It was so good I had a second helping!"
Enroute Records
"Many nice parts in the instrumental and the
vibe in the vocal line feels like the direction
we're looking for. Good indie vibes."
Various Small Flames
"The vocals bring to life a compellingly
distinctive personality here, something
which runs through the detailed yet carefully
restrained sound."

This is really good, sharing it all around the
world including at MFTIV."

this one."
DISTOPIC.IT
"I like the mood of this song (a bit...
Brazilian... :))))"
AIRBENDERS
"Great vibe!"
Storm Shelter (2025)
Lyric for Storm Shelter
Mike Mineo
"A stirringly hypnotic rock sound glows on
The Real Flower Pots' "Storm Shelter,"
enthralling in its absorbing vocal harmonies
and array of intriguing instrumentation - from
twangy lap steel shimmering to illuminated
keys. A psych-friendly spell takes hold from
the get-go, with wordless vocal haunts and
glistening instruments aligning cohesively
within a warming rhythm section. "Already
looked all over town," the vocals let out into
the gripping "sleeping in your storm
shelter," soaring hook. The production
proves magnetic in its lovely vocal
harmonies and immersive songwriting.
The track comes via the act's upcoming
album, Here Come The Real Flower Pots,
out this spring. The Real Flower Parts
formed in 2024, and is led by the talented
duo of Patrick Meagher (Girl for Samson,
YesNoYes, Hotel Radio, Hooray Henry!)
and Johnny Marie (Girl for Samson, Big
Perm, Lonesome Petunias, Boxes of
Love, This Jungle, Porps, The Wilsons)."
Cosmonauta Radio
"...a hypnotic musical journey...dreamy
and psychedelic"
American Pancake
"The Real Flower Pots and the free
falling bending realities of "Storm Shelter"
The free falling bending realities of
"Storm Shelter" by Kansas City,
Missouri's The Real Flower Pots, the
pretty much brand new project Girl for
Samson band mates Patrick Meagher
& Johnny Marie, is so comely that it
feels like an introduction to a film, the
kind of song that you listen to with an
audience in a dark theater amped up to
escape for awhile. I am not suggesting
that you stir up some microwave popcorn
before you listen but, hey, that would not
be a bad thing. I am immediately taken
aback from the falling sonics, the blend
of ghostly piano and snaking bass
lines, oddly or maybe not oddly, within
the lush production and wonderful lead
vocals and backing 'bah dah bah dah
baaahs', the atmospheres draw me
back and I mean pretty far back.
The aura feels like gemstones mined
between late 70's to late 90's and I
thought of 'Thru Metamorphic Rocks'
from Tangerine Dreams 1979 album
'Force Majeure' and for whatever
reason The Who's 1982 sometimes
overlooked masterwork "Eminence
Front" and Radiohead's "Sulk" (1995).
This is not to say that "Storm Shelter"
sounds like any of these tracks in
particular but maybe they all share a
kind of psychic resonance that feels
distilled from not only sadness but
social commentary and things
political and existential.
The sonic duties are as follows:
Patrick Meagher - Vocals,
Keyboards, Bass, Drums, Mixing,
Mastering
Johnny Marie - Bass, Lap Steel, Lyre,
Xylophone, Hand Percussion
AND the boys break down the
sound like this which I think is
interesting and funny at the same
time, not funny ha ha but curiously
mindful.
Ambient (43%)
Experimental Electronic (41%)
Vaporwave (38%)
Ambient, Drone (20%)
These guys are wildly talented and I
must say, this track is so well
produced, a great sounding track.

NoEsFm Radio
"Great alternative track with a truly
original sound. The vocal harmonies
from minute 1:12 are brilliant - smooth,
striking, and immersive. The melody
flows effortlessly, making its way in
naturally. As the song progresses, it
gains intensity, which I really
enjoyed. Your track will be featured
in NoEsFm Radio's music
programming and will play randomly at
various times throughout the month."
Programa Risca o Disco
"It's difficult to describe in words the
sensations that this track provokes.
There's a lot of sophistication in both
its composition and execution."
Mundo Independente
"Great song! A very different aesthetic,
with a high-pitched sound leading the
intro of the song, with a great melody
that extends to the rest of the song.
The bass has a great tone, is full of
groove and a great texture. The
increasing dynamics incorporate
very well-crafted voices in a great
arrangement.
The song is full of swing and special
moments; very well-crafted dynamics.
I loved the result. It reminded me of
Gorillaz, who I love!
The technical part is excellent, with
impeccable mixing and mastering."
